✦ Context

The problem

Singapore is on track to become a super-aged society by 2030, where 1 in 4 citizens will be > 65.

A deeper dive

Care workers struggle with many tools and hands-on responsibilities.

✦ Key questions

  • Objective

How might we integrate new technologies that support care staff without increasing their already overwhelming workload?

  • Enquiry

Can care staff needs be fully supported—and even surpassed—without adding to their already heavy routines?

✦ Outcome

A revamped work system integrating several tools to automate workflows by 75% to focus on human care.

🔧 Solution

A multimodal system (mobile app + AI + sensors) automated manual tasks.

✨ Impact

Workflows 79% faster → 8 hours saved per ward daily.

✦ Solution

What we did

We designed a multimodal system designed to address key challenges in nursing homes, shifting from manual to automated processes.

  • (0.1) From seperate systems to integrated.

  • (0.2) From manual monitoring to automated 24/7 monitoring with AI.

  • (0.3) From uncertainties to transparent clarity.

  • (0.3) From uncertainties to transparent clarity.

✦ Conclusion

Through co-design with care staff, engineers, and management, we created a scalable solution that reduces workload, minimizes learning burdens, and most importantly, gives care staff more time for what matters most:

Compassionate care.

  • Service design for healthcare workflows
